The Oldest Science
The oldest known recordings of astronomical observations are about 20000 years old.
Structures suitable for astronomical observations were already made
some 5000 years ago.
In Mesopotamia especially the Babylonians developed astronomy into a
proper science (lunar calendar, 7 day week, studies on movements of
the Moon and planets).
