Mirror inaccuracies

The image depicts inaccuracies left in the 1.25-metre Ritchey-Chrétien telescope main mirror made in Tuorla. The average inaccuracies are 5 nanometres, which is a hundreth of optical light wavelength. If the mirror was as large as France, the highest hills on the surface of the mirror would be about one centimetre high.
