Tuorla Observatory presentations

Tuorla Observatory staff is happy to present visiting groups its work place, the largest astronomical unit in Finland. Practical matters concerning presentations are handled by Tuorlan Astronomical Society. Presentations include a talk in our lecture hall and a tour to one or two telescopes and possibly to our tunnel.

There is a small charge of presentations for others than groups from the University of Turku, day care centres and schools. Charges may be checked from the Society catalogue (in the bottom of the page at the top of astronomical presentations).

Further information and presentation reservations may be made with officials of the Society. Currently our chairman is Aimo Sillanpää (tel. +358 2 333 8289) and secretary is Rami Rekola (tel. +358 2 333 8981). Normally presentations can be arranged quite freely at the time requested by the group, but during busy seasons the time may have to be searched for. As a general rule reservations are most likely to succeed if suggested on times from Monday to Thursday between 3 and 7 pm (15:00 - 19:00).

Welcome to Tuorla Observatory of the University of Turku!
