Moon crater animation 20.11.2000 6:20 UT

Here is an animation where you can see moon sliding through image screen. Image contrast and brightnes has been adjusted acording to craters at terminator.
Movement, which you can see on this animation, is caused by Earth rotation and by telescope vibration.
  • Image diameter : 10 arc minutes
  • Image pixel size: 5 arc second
  • Animation duration: 4 second
  • Image interval: 1 second

Animation is obtained by Tuorla 10cm Newton telescope with 120x112 pix CMOS camera. Images have been taken with stationary telescope position, ie. without guiding and driving. (Causes the motion.)
