Sunspot movement animation 21.6.2000 10:30 UT

Here is an animation where you can see two groups of sunspot move on surface of the Sun. One spot group is on upper left corner and an another on lower right corner.
Movement, which you can see on this animation, is caused by Earth rotation and by telescope vibration. The real Sunspot movement, which is caused by rotation of Sun and fluid motions of Sun's surface are much slower.
  • Image diameter : 10 arc minutes
  • Image pixel size: 5 arc second
  • Animation duration: 13 second
  • Image interval: 1 second

Animation is obtained by Tuorla 10cm Newton telescope with 120x112 pix CMOS camera and with aperture placed film Sunfilter. Images have been taken with stationary telescope position, ie. without guiding and driving. (Causes the motion.)
