Atholl Arms Hotel: This is the hotel
where the summer school took place and where most of us lived in
during those two weeks.
The hotel from the other direction.
The church of Blair Atholl.
The main road that goes through the village.
On the left are the hotel, the railway station, and the church; on the
right a small pasture for highland cattle (see my page of Blair
Castle) and main gate to the castle grounds.
I managed to photograph a halo, the left Sun Dog,
during the summer school. Although the halo (close to the centre of
the photo) is visible quite well even in the original photo I edited
this version so that it can be seen also with inferior monitors.
River Tilt divides the village in two parts.
Several nice 'riverside lodges' or summer cottages, as we call them
in Finland, are on one bank of the river.
This is the view from the other side of
the village (which is not picturesque enough for me to have taken any
photos of it).
This is the view from the 'other'
end of the village towards Pitlochry, which is 5 miles from Blair Atholl.
