Killiecrankie

We made a tour to Killiecrankie on the
commemorative day of the Battle of Killiecrankie that took place
311 years earlier. Two rangers provided us a guided tour.
The Soldier's Leap: An English soldier,
fleeing a band of pursuing Scotsmen, arrived here and chose to try
a 5.5 metre leap across the gorge rather than be butchered by the
Jacobites. He made it and the place was named after this deed.
River Garry runs through the Pass of
Killiecrankie which is a part of Glen Garry.
