Instructions for people browsing through Tuorla Observatory presentation pages

These pages were originally created to assist guides as they present Tuorla Observatory to visitor groups. Because the guide always makes the presentation a working ensemble, a random visitor to these pages should remember that it has not been the aim of these pages alone. The pages may, however, provide an interesting revision for people who have already visited our observatory or preliminary information for those contemplating a visit.

There are two presentations in these pages. The longer one, which lasts from one to two hours at Tuorla, can be followed by clicking the large arrow (or triangle) pointing right (forward) or left (backward). The short presentation (15-30 min at Tuorla) works similarily by clicking the symbols with three small arrows.

It is possible to move to any topic at any time during the presentation. The starting points of topics can be accessed by clicking the named links in the menu on the left. These links are not exactly in the same order as how the presentations progress. To return the page you left from, you must use the Back button in your browser.

There are direct links to Tuorla Observatory and its most important affiliated organisations at the top of the menu on the left. You may change the presentation language by clicking flags of different countries. You will be directed to the front page of the language.

These pages work in any screen resolution but they are designed to look best if a full screen mode is used at a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels (XGA). You can enter and exit the full screen mode in most common browsers by pressing key F11 on your keyboard. We also recommend you hide all tool bars for the duration of your visit here.
