The newest instrument the NOT can offer to observers, MOSCA, MOSAIC, or MOSCAM - the Mosaic Camera - has had many abbreviations over the years of production. MOSCAM is probably the one that will be used when the instrument officially is added to the arsenal. During a testing night on 2nd of February something went wrong and due to a serious malfunction the instrument was sent back to Copenhagen - its birth place. However, here are some photos from when the instrument was being prepared for that ill-fated test night. The very first photo shows the 'first light' image: in this case the dome roof with the dome lights on. On the second photo Jens Klougart from Copenhagen is informing local staff astronomer, Tapio Pursimo, on the fine aspects of the Mosaic Camera.
