Solar system physics
Mainly using computer simulations Tuorlan researchers have studied movements and interactions of bodies in our own solar system. Research has e.g. discovered several new types of objects in the solar system. These discoveries have later been confirmed by observations. The second moon of the Earth and other new kinds of planetary companions can be mentioned as examples.
