Solar research studies the properties and development of our closest star, the Sun. Studying the Sun we can also make conclusions on general characteristics and behaviour of stars.
Studying massive coronal mass ejections in the Sun, we are able to prepare for the disturbances they cause in electric systems onboard satellites and even in electric grid on the surface of the Earth.
